Greg Stewart

Greg Stewart is a versatile and talented journeyman singer who has performed in major hotels, bars, clubs and exclusive venues for 20 years. His work also includes national television appearances, numerous recordings, roles in musicals such as Les Miserables and performances at venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Crown, Sidney Myer Music Bowl and Dallas Brooks Hall.
Multi award winning director, Chris White, describes the diminutive singer as “ a class act .” Music reviewer, Marion Winton, writes that he is “an established performer, ” whose “stage presence and voice are extremely beguiling ” and Stage Whispers magazine describes his work as “great interpretation.”
And when Billy Joel and his entourage walked into the Grand Hyatt’s, Bar Deco, after his Melbourne concerts, they heard Stewart sing and stayed all night.
Stewart was raised on an eclectic diet of country, rock / pop, gospel and opera. He served his musical apprenticeship in Salvation Army bands and as a soloist with The Proclaimers, which appeared regularly on television, toured nationally and released numerous albums and singles. This work offered him very early experience with television, studio recording and performing on some of the biggest stages in Australia.
A huge range of band work followed before his transition to professional entertainment began when invited to perform at “Prior Engagements.” From there, Stewart, accompanied by long time musical partner, Rod Wilson, moved into long term residencies at venues such as The Grand Hyatt Melbourne and Sofitel on Collins.
Since then he’s entertained prime ministers, rock legends, movie and television stars, sporting greats and even astronauts.
